Weeelll, yesterday was a very good day.
I stayed home from work, and loved it! I went to see my gyno in Cherry Hill, NJ (yeah, I don't like switching gyno's and since he's the only one I've ever had, he's the only one that will ever touch me like that as a gyno!...unless I move to Vegas, of course).
Then, I used it as an excuse to go shopping to Cherry Hill mall.
I haven't been shopping for at least the past three months, and it showed when I spent $80.00 in Bath and Body works, $20.00 in Deb and $35.00 in Express, in addition to $7.50 in food court. I bought the entire new line of Tutti Dolci stuff from Bath and Body, since I loved, loved, loved the lemon meringue scent, and needed more beauty products anyway. So, now I have their body butter, their parfume, lip gloss sheer color, and body wash. I also bought a healing hand cream in their newest scent in regular line-up--Raspberry/Vanilla. It's my favorite one so far. Now Sweetie can use it, since his half-Puerto-Rican skin tends to get ashy and really, really dry and cracked. I bought three of those anti-bacterial lotions too, since you can never have too many of those. I'm going to use one at work, one at home and one is going to stay permanently in my car.
I bought a cute new, short, stylish courdoroy jacket from DEB on sale for only $20. It was a great deal, and the jacket looks super cute. Express had their semi-annual sale, and I bought a work shirt (burnt-orange color, since I haven't had that color in anything yet), and a pair of silky and black work pants, that were only $9,99, while the regular price was $149.99. The pants are nothing special, I can't imagine anyone paying that much for them in the past. But, go figure. Different strokes for different folks. I also bought four pairs of amazingly-cute dangling earrings. Awesome.
I felt a bit guilty after my splurging. But, what the hell, I'm just not going to go shopping until April. Unless I really need something ASAP, that is.
What ever happened to Hot Topic? I remember in the days where I used to dress weird, in a goth/punk/rave fashions, and Hot Topic was awesome to find alternative clothing in? Well, it's just a trendy store now. There's barely any goth stuff there at all. If you're lucky, you may find a rack or two with gothic gowns, while everything else is filled with emo stuff, CareBears, and the fashions that, pretty much, you can find anywhere else. So dumb. I mean, I don't buy my clothing from there anymore, but just walking in there and seeing what has become of the past 'gothic-heaven' really upset me. Sweetie said that Hot Topic has always been 'trendy' and that I agreed with, but while to be 'goth' may have been trendy when Marilyn Manson came out, there were never as many goths around as there are 'emo' people now. I mean, that's just a mainstream fashion now, it's not a sub-culture or even a specific trend. But, I guess Hot Topic just cares of what makes it money. Well, I through with that store. I'm never going to go in it again, at least not in a near future. Bunch of posers and trendsters who don't even know what's alternative right now. But, neigher do I. Well, I don't dress like anything though. I just dress 'normal' with a few gothic touches here and there and I try to pick out sexy, good, form-fitting clothes. But, that's about all.
Later last night, I went to this Cuban restaurant with my friend, Aubrey. I've an alcoholic drink called: . It's Cuban specialty, with mint leaves floating around and white rum. I then had their avocado and pineapple salad, to be healthy and I enjoyed it. I followed the salad with an entre of vegetable lasagne, sausage-fried rice, yuka, and sweet plantain. I finished off with a desert that was called "Natilla", basically some meringue and egg yolks mixed in a mug. While the meal was pretty good, I didn't think it was anything that my stomach liked very much. The place was very cute, little and romantic, but I'm not going back, most likely. I guess that I'm just not big on Hispanic cuisine. There are some components that I really love--vegetarian lasagna, salad, alcoholic drink, and some that were not up to my taste buds--yuka, rice, some other flavorings. I guess it was allright. Aubrey ate pulled pork with something else. It looked really nasty. I hate pork, and that's another reason why I don't particularly like Hispanic cuisine, as it usually incorporates a lot of pork in it, and I really don't like pork.
Well, my best meal of the day was the sushi platter that I got at the mall. It wasn't as good or gourmet-tasting as the sushi at the Japanese restaurants that I frequent, but it was still very good for a mall's food court meal. I loved it and it was an excellent way to end my shopping trip in NJ.
Overall, I had a very busy day yesterday. I think that I have allergies now, as I'm feeling very drowsey. Too bad that I used up a lot of sick days lately at my work. This way, I have to wait a bit to use the rest of them, so I seem like a valuable employee and not as someone who doesn't care about her job.
