"Not a Fling"
Cameron/Cuddy drabble
Likely rating - R

[yes I still need to write pt2 of my other Cam/Cuddy fic but haven't yet ]
*lazy/emotional trainwreck*

Cuddy sees her, she's changed. The way she walks, and smiles, and dresses. The flush in her cheeks. She smiles more, and sometimes she disappears for  an hour or so and... where does she go?
She knows

How long has this been going on with Chase? Thank God House told her - finally gave her an excuse to confront Cameron on it. Tell her to call it off without sounding like the jilted lover.

Cuddy acts like it doesn't bother her. Who cares, we were just a fling, it's not like i expected a relationship did I?

oOoOoOo

Two weeks later there is an insistant knocking on Cuddy's door. It's late.
12:46am on a Thursday night? Who the hell? - thinks Cuddy as she pulls her robe around her and stumbles through the dark, to the door. She opens it.

Cameron - and she's drunk.

Cuddy sighs but lets her inside. She looks almost cute, shivering in the doorwar, wavering slightly, a little unstead on her feet.

She watches as Cameron slowly makes her way to the couch and sits, taking the cup of tea offered by Cuddy and cradling it in her hand to sip at, before placing it aside on the coffee table.

"You were right, I called it off" she finally says, the first words spoken since her arrival. Cuddy looks at her as she says this and notices Cameron's eyes are glue to her shoes. Maybe she isn't as drunk as she'd thought..

"Why did you call it off?" asked Cuddy for me? - she wanted to ask, but didn't. Cuddy was not the type to seem so needy.

Cameron shook her head slightly and shrugged, toeing her heels off onto the floor in front of her. Cuddy smiled inwardly at herself noticing how comfortable Cameron still felt in her house. (did that make her happy? yes maybe)
"He wanted more. I just.. didn't."

This time Cuddy sighed. She had to ask, she knew she would probably regret it but she had to know.
"Were you doing it to make House jealous? Was Chase right?"

Cameron glanced up at Cuddy, they locked eyes for a maybe a milisecond but it felt like an eternity to Cameron and she quickly returned to the examination of the floor, her shoes, her toes, the rug, anything but Cuddy's peircing eyes.

Sensing Cameron wasn't going to answer Cuddy began to speak again;
"It's probably for the best - "
"I wasn't trying to make House jealous, dammit" Cameron interrupted, the slurring in her voice beginning to fade.

They were both silent for a moment.
"I.. I couldn't stop thinking about you Lisa!" Cameron exclaimed, finally raising her head to look the older woman in the eyes.

Cuddy tried to hide her surprise, tried not to show how happy this made her. She didn't want to look desperate. She wasn't desperate. was she in love?

Cuddy moved closer to Cameron on the couch and wrapped an arm around her, pulling the young woman into her arms and together they laid back on Cuddy's plush leather sofa, neither of them speaking for a while.
Cuddy traced little circles on Cameron's back through her shirt, until Cameron leaned up a little and removed her shirt, allowing Cuddy access to her bare skin. Cuddy continued tracing circles and running her finger lightly up and down Cameron's spine until Cameron leaned up and kissed Cuddy firmly on the lips.

The kiss became feverish and when they parted for air Cameron smiled, "mmmm, I always missed your touch Lisa."
Cuddy smiled and began kissing the young woman again, while reaching around to unhook her bra.
"I missed yours too." replied Cuddy huskily, smiling down at Cameron who was now fussing with the tie to Cuddy's robe.

"Let me help you with that." Cuddy said, grasping Cameron's slender fingers and pulling them away just long enough to untie the robe and pull it open to expose herself to Cameron.
Cameron smiled a toothy grin before taking a nipple into her mouth and suckling on it, enjoying the taste of the woman under her."

Cuddy moaned at the contact but quickly pushed the younger woman up so they were both in a sitting position again.
"I'm glad you ended it with Chase," she confessed, "and not just because of hospitol politics..."
Cameron smiled at her but her smile was full of want and lust and confusion.
"Then why did you stop...?" she was gesturing between them as to indicate what was clearly about to happen a few minutes before.

Cuddy laughed - a laugh which made Cameron's insides melt - before replying.
"Well, I just thought we'd be more comfortable if we moved this into the bedroom." She smiled at Cameron who simply smiled back and hopped up - all previous drunkeness seemed to be gone.

As they made their way to the bedroom Cameron shed the rest of her clothes and soon the two lovers were in bed, exploring eachother's bodies once more and when they finally came Cameron smiled contently and collapsed next to Cuddy. They lay there, sated and skin-slicked with sweat for a few moments before Cuddy spoke.

"So, you upset? About having to end it with Chase?" she asked tentatively.
"Well, I was, but not so much anymore." Cameron replied thoughtfully.
"Good." was all Cuddy replied before wrapping her arms, and blankets, around Cameron and soon they fell into a comfortable sleep.

Maybe this wasn't just a fling after all

Cuddy fell asleep with a smile on her face.
