"And I was Staring at the Sun for Hours the Morning After..."

Pentecost! The church was full of redfire. Mama used roses and tulips and alstromeria in the altar flowers, all reds and oranges and deep, and I wore dark dark red. Sunday School was funny, if only because it turns out that Ben is a normal human being after and capable of being, lord, really nice--we were potting flowers for our respective mothers, and Ben said, "Oh! We should do one for Mrs. D, since Sean's in Iraq and isn't here to make her anything!" You have to realise that Ben is a typical stereotypical teenage boy and sullen and horrid and usually sits around remarking on the relative lameness of virtually everything. You can hardly even engage him in conversation most days. And to-day he just perked right up and said that. And then when Mrs. A asked which flower we should plant, Ben said, "That one! It's all short and squat. It'll remind her of Sean [who is probably the tallest person in the entire church]!" And we all just died laughing. It was truly beautiful. A good moment to hold in the hands.

And then of course there was a mother's day brunch sort of thing that was terribly boring, so I went and read in the car until it was over.

Aaaaand it's erinpuff's birthday! I hope that it was absolutely wonderful and wonderful. ^___^ And I love you. And if you would like a bad drabble or something like that I will be only too happy to oblige. *loves on massively*
