I just found out one of my friends from NJ passed away. She was one of the nicest, sweetest people you'd ever want to meet. She had been raising rabbits for over 15 years, and boy did she love her bunnies. She was a 4H leader. She loved to help out the youth as much as she could, and she was always donating money or rabbits to help us in any way she could. She had gorgeous chocolate (the color) Jersey Woolies, and won several national awards with them, which is something that's hard to do with that color.

I'm trying to get some thoughts together so that I can send them with someone who will be going to her funeral on Wednesday. I really want to go, but I just don't think it's possible unless I spend $200+ on a flight or drive and get someone to cover me at work. So, here are some of my memories of Karen.

-One time she was over at my house before a show, and I was showing her some of my baby bunnies. She particularly liked a little blue-eyed white, and she jokingly said she wanted to steal her and take her home. She stuck the bunny under her shirt to "steal" it and started slyly walking away, but the bunny grabbed on to her bra and wouldn't let go. :) We had to help her pry it off and we all had a good laugh.

-We traveled and roomed together at several national shows at the peak of my Weird Al obsession, so every trip had a Weird Al soundtrack. She loved "Achy Breaky Song" and would always dance to it in the car. :)

-She gave great hugs, and was always fun to talk to. She told my mom and I one time that "It's just nice to be able to talk rabbits!".

I hope to think of more to add to this list. I will really really miss Karen.
