We spent all day today over at the house prepping to paint the living room/hallway/staircase area. We won't have any electricity until Tuesday, so needless to say it was HOT in there. It was actually better inside than outside, but still, when you're moving around and working, you get warm a lot quicker anyway. Of course when I went to masking tape the trim on the front wall, I discovered that some paint was peeling due to a bit of past moisture that probably occurred before the covered porch was added on. Needless to say, we spent the next hour or 2 peeling 70 years worth of paint and paper off of the wall, and scraping bits of things off (and yes, we had masks on). Tomorrow I will have to work on cleaning the walls a bit, and Dan will need to spackle the wall we scraped the stuff off of, as well as what he spackled in other areas today. We can't start painting until Tuesday since we will need to have the A/C on to make it less than 90 degrees inside. At least once we get power we can work at night.

Dan's birthday was mucho fun! He's been telling me what a good time he had all day today. :) Oh, and I got suspended by ropes! It was really neat and I enjoyed it until the end, when my back started killing me. It still hurts today a bit, and I feel like I got punched in the stomach, but other than that I would totally do it again. *hopes the guy is there next month*

I will post pics of the house soon! I promise! I wanted to do before and after pics of the painting, but since we don't have lights they prolly wouldn't turn out as good as I'd like.
