pendulum/crisis

Tell me about the most prized possession you have.
The thing that comes to mind for this is the first pendulum I bought. I was at this lovely little new age shop in Edinburgh, Scotland and the pendulums were in a display rack, from 75 pounds sterling and up. Of course the one I picked was the most expensive one! I don't have a picture of it but it is clear quartz, with a silver 'cap' in which a completely ground garnet stone is embedded. Across the cap is a silver bridge, from which a chain hangs, and on the end is a tiny clear quartz round crystal. I deliberated a great deal in getting it because I was unsure since the price was so high, but eventually I just got it. I don't use it a great deal now -- I've had it for several years, but it's among the most expensive things I own and it is very dear to me.

Tell me about what you would do for a career if you could do anything?

I would love to do something that involved being around crises. I have learned enough about myself to know that I am *excellent* in a crisis and when things must be done at critical times. This is one reason why I have considered becoming a hospital chaplain. I think I would do well in the ER, too. When things get really hectic, I get super calm and grounded and other people feel it too. I've thought about grief counseling, but I think I may be more in the market for something a little more high-stress. This is something I'm still pondering. I want to do concrete good in the world, which is one reason why my idea for being the 'pied piper of pests' appeals to me so much -- helping farmers out with their pests, in a way that hurts no one and benefits everyone.
