Springy Dog, My Spirit left me, and Girls in Pants

Tuesday, when my Mom left for work, was so weird. I had gone outside (in my pjs cause I'm cool like that lol) to get the mail and send her off with air kisses and a wave goodbye. She started backing down the driveway and this dog runs from behind her car toward me. It was doing this hyper run-spring thing as it bounded toward me tail wagging behind it. The dog (who lifted a leg to pee so I assumed the dog was a male although I've seen female dogs lift their legs too) was so playful and happy to see me it kept springing up and bouncing against my stomach. It was so hyper it was like it was a ping pong ball and my gut was the paddle. My guesstimate is that the pup wasn't older than a year. He was white with brown spots and had a blue collar. The collar obviously meant that he belonged to someone. I didn't notice any tags so I walked to the neighbors across the street knowing they had several dogs. I knocked on the door to find out if Springer was theirs, but no one answered. So, I went back home. I went inside to put the mail away and get the dog some water, but when I returned the dog had disappeared. I was going to put him in our backyard and call the animal control. I would have kept him and put an ad in the paper etc but we have cats and this isn't my house and I'd rather have him spend a night or two at an animal shelter to protect him from getting hit by a car. I hope that little dog found his way home safely. Oh and another strange thing was that I went in the direction of where he ran off to see if I could find him. I followed his pawprints and they had made almost a full circle and that was it. There werent' any prints leading away from the circle.

Also later that day I swear I heard my cats fighting upstairs, but when I turned to go upstairs and stop their bickering (lest they should break something) I saw that they were both downstairs with me. Cal was asleep in a chair and Gus was snoozing on the loveseat. Weird. Then that evening my Mom went into the kitchen and started to talk to someone. When she came back into the living room I asked who she had been speaking to and she told me "You." I just kind of stared at her and said "Uh, Mom I wasn't in the kitchen." She started to get all huffy and said "Amber Marie you were too in the kitchen I saw you!" I asked her what she had said to me and she replied "You asked what I was doing and I said "getting another trash bag" and you said "Yeah that's probably a good idea the other one was getting full"". I just replied "Uh no I was sitting here the whole time. I wasn't in the kitchen with you." Mom just sighed and said "Well I saw you so if it wasn't you it must have been your spirit I was talking too." I would just like to add that if my spirit wants to take trips on its own it should let me know first or at least allow me the knowledge of what it does, sees, and let's me know of any conversations it has with people so I don't get confused or confuse anybody.

Last night Mom and I rented The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I absolutely loved it. It's now on my must have dvd list. I'm definitely going to read the book (and its companions) that the movie is based on.

Mom also bought me a bag of Sweetheart conversation hearts. When I opened the bag I swear the air that whooshed out smelled like cherry cough syrup. Blech! Luckily, the candies taste just as delicious as I remember. MMM my mouth is happy. I am happy.

Love, peace, and mac n cheese,

~Amber
