Dreams Come True
By LilyChan

It all started as a daydream. It was the thing Jen looked forward to dream about whenever she would sleep.

Words couldn’t express on how happy she was that her dreams had finally came true.

The whole thing started one cold January morning when Jen idly checked the Korean Music Festival website. She looked at the lineup for the concert later that day. No on at first stood out from the roster that she was really interested so she continued to look through it. Despite the fact she wasn’t interested in the groups, she remembered idly her friends on Live Journal mentioned them.

Then she skimmed past the name Super Junior. Jen remembered Super Junior-T’s performance at last year’s concert - Yehsung had joined in the group at random and the young woman remembered how the crowd reacted. She even remembered how she reacted! Jen had screamed for him in support of Super Junior Plus 15 movement early last year.

Are they going to be back? Jen thought as she scrolled back to where they were. She accidentally moved her mouse and audibly gasped.

The excited woman opened her MSN messenger and searched for someone - anyone - to tell this exciting news! When she didn’t find anyone, she opened her Live Journal account online and updated her journal with the news.

Within minutes, Jen received a lot of comments. Most of them were obviously shocked and some of them even used caps lock to express it. Eventually she heard the familiar pings from all the messages she received. At first, Jen was overwhelmed by it but she did the best she could.

Finally Jen glanced at her journal, since she decided to disable e-mail notification to spare her inbox, and saw that Lily, also known as baka_tenshi, responded.

She always has the most hilarious ideas, she thought as she waited for her computer to load her message.

As she read it, she grinned wider.

oooo

The wait for the concert was painful for Jen, almost too painful. Jen dreamt nothing but Zhou Mi, her favorite Super Junior member, for the past few days. She had to distract herself from thoughts of him on stage - especially from where she was to sit.

Jen would sit next to Lily and her friends, right by the stage. The concert was only hours away and Jen was completely with the Chinese man already. At least in her imagination, she was with him. Her friends would often tease her about her and Zhou Mi’s alleged destiny and some of them even wrote fanfiction about the two together. She hoped that one day she would actually meet him face to face. Since she read past accounts of Super Junior, Jen always wondered why they were usually the first to perform.

“Usually it’s to set the mood,” a friend told her once, “for the rest of the concert. They all come together at the end anyway and sing one last song.”

The brunette mentally prepared herself as something landed on her lap. Surprised, she looked down and saw the concert’s program on her lap. She immediately opened it and tried to find Super Junior-M’s group picture. Once she found it, she smiled brightly.

“Ah! I see Henry!” Lily cried out suddenly. Jen stood up, along with her friends, and looked in the same general direction. Barely, she saw either Hangeng or Kyunhyun but there was no doubt about it; Super Junior-M was on first. Lily squealed and jumped up and down while Jen only grew more anxious. Lily’s friend, known as PK, waved a sign that said “SPEAK ENGLISH” on one side, while the other side said “SPEAK KOREAN”. Lily held her own signs but wouldn’t say what they were. Jen could tell she was anxious to talk about it though.

“How long is it going to be?” Jen asked Lily.

She shrugged, though she seemed a bit distracted. “I don’t know, but hopefully soon.”

Jen sat back down and impatiently waited.

oooo

Finally the concert began. The men danced and sang all of Jen’s favorite songs from their album. The young woman screamed for Zhou Mi’s attention and even reached her hand out for him. Needless to say, he mesmerized Jen. She didn’t notice Ryeowook, Henry, Donghae, Siwon, or anyone else besides Zhou Mi.

Then, the impossible happened. While Jen reached up for him, she felt someone’s hand and pulled her on stage. She tripped for effect in case it was yet another wild fantasy.

Yet she still felt some pain.

But who is pulling my thumb? Could it be - Her thoughts were interrupted when she finally landed on stage. She faced the one person who haunted her thoughts. The only person she could only dream of being with him.

Zhou Mi.

Jen could barely hear the music and the fans’ screams. The only sound she could even hear was her own heartbeats. When the Chinese man smiled sweetly his famous smile, Jen froze. He opened his mouth to say something but she couldn’t hear him. She would’ve been completely frozen if she didn’t see the other fans that also danced on the stage.

Oops! Better dance!

oooo

The concert ended much too soon for Jen. She was still mesmerized about her short time on stage.

“It’s a good thing I took pictures, huh? I’ll e-mail or post it on my LJ, okay?” Lily said. She invited Jen with her and her friends since Jen arrived there at the last minute with no place to stay in. Apparently, the group found out where the artists stayed somehow. Jen could only nod.

Since she was tired from all the excitement that day, she excused herself back to the room to sleep. Lily decided to with her since the others were too excited to sleep anyway; plus Jen didn’t have a hotel key.

“I’ll be back, guys. Meet me by the gift shop or something. Don’t get in trouble without me!” Lily said and they went their own separate ways.

oooo

The two were quiet for the most part though there was some idle chat.

When they stepped in the elevator, the less sleepy one ran into someone; then Jen heard her gasp.

“Oh my G-Jen! Look! Look!” Lily’s voice rose higher and higher as she ran back to get Jen. She grabbed Jen’s arm and pulled it hard.

“Ow! What are you doing?” Jen asked as her tired feet did their best to carry her towards their destination.

Jen stared in aw once more as she stared into her idol’s eyes.

Zhou Mi merely smiled at her as the two stepped out.

He and Henry apparently wanted to get some coffee for the other members and they were too tired to get it themselves. Thankfully, Lily had a camera phone so she took pictures, got their autographs, and talked about the concert with them. Jen couldn’t believe the other fan could talk so casually though at the corner of her eye, she could tell Lily’s hands shook nervously. Jen couldn’t blame her.

Soon they had to leave to get their coffees. They waved at each other goodbye and the two girls wished them and their band good luck for everything.

Even though it’s expensive to text message, much less send pictures, Jen just had to have a picture of her and Zhou Mi. As soon as they were sure they couldn’t hear them, the two newly excited girls looked at each other and smiled. They stepped into an elevator, which finally arrived.

“Can you believe our luck? Man, I’m so glad I got that camera phone when I did!” Lily said as she went through the photos in said phone. Jen could tell she was still nervous by the way her hands still shook.

“Hey, can you send me the one of Zhou Mi and me?” Jen asked as she got out her own cell phone.

“But isn’t that expensive for you?” Lily asked.

“Well, yeah, but you have AT&T too, tight?”

Lily nodded. “I think it is free between people who have AT&T. You sure you want to do this? I don’t want to get you in trouble.”

Jen sighed. “It’s worth it. Believe me. If I get in trouble, at least I’ll have the pictures and the memory of today.”

The other girl had no choice but to nod.

“Okay then! Give me some time to send it…” Lily said as she brought her phone closer to her face. To distract herself from the anxiety, Jen kept an eye on elevator numbers. Idly she tried to remember the floor they stayed on.

The fifth floor, she tiredly thought; Jen heard something that made her jump slightly. She glanced at her phone and pressed the buttons she obviously needed to press. She managed to open the message and she smiled brightly.

In the picture, Jen had a smile that glowed as Zhou Mi wrapped an arm around her and gave the camera a peace sign. She felt something warm inside her heaRt in particular whenever she glanced at the Chinese man.

Could it be actual love?

“Oh, we’re here. Come on, Jen.”

Jen didn’t move from her spot. Lily already stepped out but came back in.

“Jen? What’s wrong?”

The girl looked up and said, “Suddenly I’m not so tired anymore.”

Lily smiled and nodded. “Okay. Maybe we can catch them on the way back!”

Jen nodded as Lily called her friends on her phone as Jen pressed for the lobby floor. The same surge of excitement and warmth filled her heart. As she went down the floors, the girl wondered if her ultimate dream would come true: to be Zhou Mi’s wife.

She shook her head. One step at a time, Jen. One step at a time.

The End
