Nothing in Common
By LilyChan
Takeru never though he would have anything in common with Taichi. He figured the only thing they would have in common, besides Digital Monsters, was his brother - Yamato. It was awkward to be in the same room as his brother’s boyfriend he would have to admit. There was no doubt Taichi loved and treated his brother right. He just couldn’t help but feel the way he felt.
On this particular day, Takeru had planned to spend the day with his brother like they promised - but Taichi had to come over since he had forgotten something. Yamato had left the two to their own devices to get the forgotten item.
It was really quiet between the two.
The blond glanced at the table before him. In his hands were a couple of movie tickets to a theater the two were going to go to. He laughed at the surprise when he told his brother his plans. The movie didn’t do too well in the box office and Takeru managed to trick Yamato into thinking he was going to some other movie.
He stopped immediately as soon as he heard some shuffling on the other end of the table. He glanced up and saw the brunet reading a really thick magazine. He couldn’t see the title too well since he bent the pages over to cover it.
He smiled. A conversation starter!
“What are you reading, Tai?” he asked, being friendly.
“Shounen Jump,” he gave him eye contact and smiled. “It’s the latest chapter for Whistle! Do you read manga?”
Takeru shook his head. “Nah, I haven’t found anything that caught my interest. What is Whistle about?”
The other smiled and beamed. “It’s about this guy who goes to another school but he’s the worst soccer player. He fools his teammates and school pretty much that he’s a good player. It’s pretty cool! I like the moves and I’d like to try them out one day!”
Takeru nodded and chuckled as well. “That sounds like something Daisuke would like. You know how much he tries to emulate you.”
He smiled proudly and placed the magazine on the table “He has to learn from the best, right?”
The blond was about to say something when he heard Yamato clear his throat. “Get over yourself, Yagami.” He tossed the bag to his head and it made a loud sound. Takeru merely laughed at the two's antics.
Perhaps they had more things in common then he thought. He made a mental note to check out that manga.
