Summary: Challenge fanfic for
shangrilove 's Tatsuya challenges. Here are five instances which prove that Ueda's not gay.
Author's Notes: I really wanted to write an extra side to this but I honestly couldn't think of writing anything else without getting any more cheesy then it already is. In any case, I hope you enjoyed my contribution to the Tatsuya prompt fest. I think I might write more, but reviews make me feel better about myself and help me get inspired. ;D -SHOT-

Not Gay
By LilyChan
Ueda Tatsuya is not gay. He was never gay and he never will be. There are reasons why that is so.
When he was young, he had a friend as anyone would. They were always together and always talked highly of each other. This friend was considered “strange”, however. Ueda didn’t fully understand it himself but he would always be the one defending him. He didn’t mind - after all, that’s what friends do. Other children would comment on how he’d defend his friend.
“Well, you’re picking on him. Why shouldn’t I defend him?” he asked.
People assumed they were going to grow up homosexual together because they were so close - much too close. But Ueda didn’t because he isn’t gay. Never has and will never be gay.
When Ueda was growing up, he met a strange teacher. The teacher always invited him to after school tutorials even though Ueda was doing fairly well. He was extremely handsome and extremely nice. He even tried to level with them which made everyone happy. Everyone loved him, even Ueda himself. But not in the way you’re thinking. In any case, despite the fact he offered the middle school student many times, he had mysteriously disappeared. When pressed, all the other teachers would say in a desperate attempt to shoo him away.
“He was strange. Leave it at that, Ueda-kun.”
Even though he knew, almost, of what they meant, that wasn’t the answer he wanted. He had an itching feeling of sadness. But then, everyone else was sad. It wasn’t because he’s gay. He never has been gay and he will never be gay.
When he was in high school, he loved the singer named Gackt. He watched all his concerts. He watched every single show he was invited into. Even when his parents questioned him the same questions, he’d respond the same way.
“Tatsuya, why don’t you ever date a girl? Why do you watch Gackt all the time?”
To which he’d always respond with: “Eventually, mother, just after this concert.”
He never got around to it except maybe talking to them about him. That didn’t mean he was gay. It just meant he had better things to concentrate on.
When he decided to train as a boxer, he met a trainer. He was weird, since he touched him everywhere that was uncomfortable, but he helped him a lot. Ueda, around when he started training, he’d decided to train by himself. He figured that if he did it by himself, he’d be stronger.
The trainer told him otherwise. He taught him things he never knew. They went everywhere together. They tried out different gyms and even entered some tournaments. Despite the fact they didn’t win all of it, it was enough to have Ueda Tatsuya synonymous with his trainer.
No one saw it coming, not even Ueda himself. He couldn’t pull away from his body when he died in the hospital bed. He never cried so hard and so silently at a funeral. It wasn’t that the two were lovers. It was because he was a close friend. Ueda Tatsuya is not gay, has never been gay, and will never be gay.
When he first joined Johnny’s, he knew he’d hate it there. He wanted to be like his idol. At least, he thought he’d hate it until he met Taguchi. He was really dorky and lame. Ueda couldn’t help but awkwardly stare at him whenever he’d make a pun. As he got to know him, his interest faded and shifted to Nakamaru. He tolerated a lot from the two most popular of the five. The two would always fight and Ueda would always catch himself lost in admiration.
“Ueda, are you homo for Nakamaru?”
He glared at Tanaka Koki. He wasn’t supposed to say that on national television! He didn’t respond but Nakamaru feverishly tried to change the subject since he realized that it bothered Ueda a lot.
He didn’t mean to show his feelings too much. After all, he wasn’t gay. Never had been and never will be.
