Oh gods, the time that has passed.

SO. A thousand apologies to those of you on this journal that I don't see IRL, since I have essentially dropped out of conversation with the internet. I am now typing on my new computer, which is a tiny blue Toshiba that I have named David because it is ten inches (I told you I would).

The Boy did not just fail to budget for summer. Oh no. He has been out of a job for months. And months. Probably the entire time that he was living here. Which he lied about consistently. And then since he lost his scholarship, his mother declared that she won't pay for him to go to community college unless he moved back home. So instead of, I dunno, taking a semester off, finding a student loan, or Eris forbid, getting a goddamn job and paying for community college himself, he caved to mommy's request and moved out a week after informing me he didn't have rent for the previous month. The only thing he did right was reaching deep into his pockets, finding his mom's purse-strings, and paying for the month of May.

At any rate, I got fantastically lucky, in that my dad showed up to belatedly give me birthday money, which turned into rent for June. Then, as it turns out, a friend of mine who was desperately looking for somewhere to live that wasn't owned by any immediate family, so she moved in by the end of the month.

So, now I am less a boyfriend and plus a roommate. We might kill each other by the end of the lease, but at least we will have a roof over our heads until then.

I also managed to total my car. I was on my way to jury duty, sleepy, nervous, not sure where I was going, and apparently I was looking at my directions a lot longer than I thought I was. When I looked up, I was headed towards cars stopped at a red light. I hit the brakes, and then I hit a car. No injuries, no airbags, nothing serious- and after defensive driving, there will be no evidence that anything ever happened, and certainly not that it was my fault- but since my car was old, it didn't take much. Some smashed headlights, a broken radiator, and my car now belongs to the insurance company. Rest in peace, Lucien.

I seem to have a very bizarre half-luck. The Boy is gone, but I had the money for rent and now I have a roommate. My car is gone, but work isn't far from a rail station, so now I have a pleasant morning walk past a great little farmer's market and a leisurely breakfast at the bagel place across the street.

I am alive. I have internet. I have a working, reliable computer. I have over 2,000 missed messages and deviations on my deviantART. But, dear internets, I am back.
