I was researching the "ALL THE THINGS!" meme, and I discovered this blog entry at Hyperbole and a Half. It is apparently the origin of the "ALL THE THINGS" meme, and it explains my life so perfectly I have to share it.

This is why I'll never be an adult.

Yeah, this is me. It's particularly difficult to be "responsible" when I'm in pain. Every. Single. Day. But on the outside, I "don't look sick", so I'm clearly an irresponsible, lazy slacker who just wants everyone to do everything for me. We have carpet stains, dust everywhere, and keeping the catboxes clean is a challenge. It's embarrassing, and I have to keep re-convincing myself that I can't be Superwoman when my pain level on a good day is between 5-7, and on a day like today it's inching dangerously close to 10.

That's gotta suck. :-( I'm sorry to hear that you're in so much pain.

For me it's not pain; it's energy. Sometimes it's physical energy. Sometimes it's mental energy. Sometimes it's a combination of both. I just look at what I have to do, and then I retreat into the Internet for the rest of the day.

This is pretty much me, though I now pay someone else to Clean All the Things (or at least some of them). When the rebellion stage comes up, I don't call it rebellion (though that's an accurate word too); I call it overwhelm.
