Good job, President-elect Obama. And good job, McCain and Obama for your very classy speeches. Boo to the crowd in Phoenix who were booing Obama and Biden. Bad form, yo.

Do I expect Obama to deliver on most of his campaign promises? In all seriousness, no. The economy is too gutted, and our wars too seemingly interminable for lofty visions of utopia to come to fruition. However, I do expect him to rebuild our standing in the world and bring a sense of gravitas and respect back to the White House. I don't expect the world of Obama, but I do expect his best efforts.

Amusing things tonight:
- Fox News
- How the major news networks refrained from calling the race until the West Coast polls closed...and then immediately called the race for Obama when they did. Gee, I bet you counted so many Californian, Oregonian, and Washingtonian votes in those five seconds.
- Randomly dancing old people in Chicago
- Obama's daughters and their new puppy

So. Today, Obama won, I (by some grace of god) managed to eke out a B in biochem, and my Lelouch figma came in. I remember I had a good day when Suzaku came in, too. Obviously, figmas are the portents of all things awesome.

awesome, real life, politics
