*STOP PRESS*

The Wutars, the next band to emerge from legendary Filthy MacNastys after The Libertines, signed their first record deal on Friday 10th August at 9.30pm.

This is now happening at Filthy MacNastys.....

You'll never forget Pete & The Libertines.

Now remember The Wutars. After nearly 14 months residency at Filthy's, this promising Indie Rock Powerpop band based in High Wycombe chose the pub -their spiritual home- to sign their first record deal with Was Not Done label owned by Was Not Media multimedia company.

The band signed at 9.30pm, on the stage where they've been playing every month, in front of The Libertines photograph taken in 2004, as Pete Doherty and Carl Barat were performing their last gig together as the Libertines on the very same stage…

The deal was celebrated & officially announced on Saturday 11th August, 10.30pm at The Metro Club, where the band performed a super-charged set, including stunning new song, Tea Drinkers Of The World.

The Wutars are a band that effortlessly stand out from their peers. In a time when indie seems to revolve around image rather than music, here are four young lads who add a lot of substance in a bleak landscape. The Wutars themselves prefer not to be thrown into the same category as the recent swash of British bands, because as any fan will tell you, this band transcends the whole scene. Here is a band who created music to inspire…

Their songs tell story of Life, love, loss, alcohol abuse, and the same disenchantment which many young people feel towards the routine of 21st century living. The Wutars are not an arrogant bunch, yet they are instilled with a strong self belief & not yet tainted with cynism of life, boasting a song writing partnership which treatens to rival the true greats, and a rhythm section that will tear the roof off!!!

The Wutars are a reality, they are timeless, and they are here right now! They love it! And after one listen so will you…(Words by Matt Kinsley)

Was Not Media are a fresh, innovative record label group comprising of an Indie, Rock & Pop division (Was Not Done) and a House & Dance label (Was Not Right).

Company Director, Luke Westbury, says: "The creation of Was Not Media was a very organic process. Co-Director, Richard Gibbens and I had spent years working in various sectors of the music, events and television industries on a host of high-profile music related projects - coupled with a passion for new music and the excellent digital studio facilities owned by our now Engineering Manager, John Coates, it was a project that just made sense!"

The first signing for Was Not Media's alternative arm, Was Not Done, is enigmatic rock-poppers The Wutars. Luke W. continues: "Our signing of The Wutars was basically the easiest decision we've had to make. From the first time of seeing them live and meeting Veronica Morato, their diligent manager, it was obvious that aside from really great tracks, they were a band that are full of passion and - sent in the right direction - will stop at nothing until everyone is talking about them. We are delighted to be working with the most catchy, melodic band of the decade."
