Ok, I'm 33 years and 1 day old today; I think I can handle that. Well, I'm getting better at coping with it. I need to realize that I'm a later bloomer and shouldn't be pushing myself so hard. I also needed to have a good laugh and to relax yesterday. Luckily, I got both.
I went out with Barb to Ruby Tuesday to celebrate my being on the Dean's List. (Yes, I'm a geek and a nerd, deal with it!) When we got there, I mentioned to her that my birthday was that day and she offered to buy me a drink, too! So, over a Ruby Relaxer (which I could have drank 8 or 9 of them had they not been alcoholic!) and plate of chicken parmesagn, we talked about her Dad's recent death, my birthday stinking on ice and the Jewish religion. She's sort of Jewish - born into it but doesn't go to temple. We had a few good laughs and the food was excellent. From there, I gassed up my little grocery getter and went to art club. Barb showed up a little later with brownies. (I brought a cake with me.) We talked and made artsy fartsy stuff all night. Our friends Deb, Michele, and Cathie were there and we had a few good laughs.
Michele was making these necklace pendants and I had to get some supplies to try it. It looks simple but I did an attempt earlier and I don't know if I did really well or not. The process is to get a photo or some image and glue it to a piece of glass. Once the glue sets, trim the excess off and put it in a frame and string beads or whatever on it. Again, sounds easy. Might not be, I don't know.
The other ladies were all making cards or gift boxes. I had to get one of the things to make a gift box out of. I'm such a weenie! I don't know what I want to do with the gift box but I'll think of something.
When I got home, no one had called BUT my brother had been over and left some presents for me. I got a laser pointer (I love science stuff and it makes a great cat toy), a car magazine, and the latest issue of The Weekly World News! I flipped through the latter and got to the article about groundhog men attacking a city whereupon I lost it! I just laughed so hard that I couldn't talk. The pictures for the article were the typical fare for WWN - so badly photoshopped that you had to laugh. I felt a lot better after the hilarity and actually slept pretty well.
So, I'm recovering and learning to cope.
