OK. The reason for my long hiatus from LJ can now be revealed without shaming myself. I have been studying to take my Board of Certification exam. This is the BIG test. The kind that can ruin your life if you fail. I have honestly recopied all of my notes from all of my classes (except microbiology - more on that in a minute) in order to take this. Today was the day. I passed. So now I can add some alphabet soup to the end of my name, ASCP. I hope this will increase my hourly pay. I think it will but I'm just so glad to have it over with that I just want to sleep... something I haven't done for about three days.

Now, about micro. I do not think that my professor was all that good. At the time, I may not have had a problem. But looking over my notes again, I have to wonder, what was that professor on? I mean, the notes are so dissociated and there is no rhyme or reason to it. In the section about Staph. she has information about MacConkey agar plates. MAC agar is used to kill gram positive cocci (which is what Staph. is) so why are we talking about it in a section about growing GPC? Dafuq?

I have a massive headache. Stupid stress.

Another thing I'm amazed at, the drive to Harrisburg. OMG. It's like a death trap. Trying to get to this place was a cluster fuck. Road construction everywhere, huge potholes and torn up roads that no one is even looking at much less fixing, wet roads, idiots that don't have their headlights on in the rain.... Nearly got killed on the way back. Really, Pennsylvania? Interstate 83 has to be one of the worst - if not THE worst - highway I have ever been on. And I've been on a few - having been from VA. beach to CA. The area around Harrisburg has been under construction for the last 20 years. Still haven't finished. Still dangerous. How the hell did I survive driving all the way up there and back for two semesters?? This is making my head hurt worse.

Now that I no longer have to study all the time, I have no idea what I should do. I guess I should make some cards. I'm almost out of them at work.
