Well, I am home (as in, back in PA). No, I'm not happy about it. I spent most of the trip bitching and pissing a fit that I had to come home early and the car claim. I was so worked up, that when I stopped for gas (just passed Hancock, MD, on I-70), I had to call Dad to calm myself down. No one should face the horror of the interstates between Baltimore and DC when they are in a tizzy as you will do stupid shit. I knew he could help me out.

So, what I did Sunday (that was good; the crappy stuff is in a previous journal). Before I went to my aunt's house, I stopped in Barboursville at the Oaklawn Cemetery. I took photos of the tombstones for the genealogy researchers in the family. I got a few other shots but not as many fancy tombstones there. (CornerOfMadness, the stone I was telling you about isn't the one I thought it was. I got photos of it but it isn't the one with the raccoon on it. I will go through my past photos and see where it is.)

I went to my aunt's after that. We had a fun time. She and I drove out to the cemetery where our family is (mom's side), Asbury Cemetery and Jones' Cemetery. It started to rain while we were out there so we didn't get many pictures. No fancy stones at either one - well, not old statues like at the others. There were some really nice modern ones. I will set up a Flckr page for them later. I'm just too tired to do that now.

She and I went to Pullman Square in Huntington so she could buy a video game. Where in the HELL did THAT come from?! I mean, holy crap! It's several old buildings repurposed into shops and restaurants to get people to come downtown again. Wow. It was gorgeous and awesome. After Game Stop, we went into Inspirations where I got a Hello Kitty billfold and some hair baubles. Then we went up to the bookstore. It has some growing to do - the shelves were somewhat empty but it's new. I got three books there - one is about how to operate an etsy store. :D We then went to the Goodwill downtown, near the Dutch Miller car dealership is. I found a book about horse racing... and a few shirts. Why were women's clothing in the men's section, I have no idea.

Then drove out to see my aunt DJC and uncle OC. (They are my dad's side of the family but know my maternal aunt DSB.) They were quite chatty. It was good to see them. Hard to believe that a few short weeks ago, DJC was in the hospital with double pandemonium and a slight heart attack. The woman was up and doing canning.

I didn't get back to the hotel until ten at night. I sat around and played on the internet for a while. Made an icon out of one of my photos and posted it to Facebook. (I captioned a photo of the mothman statue with "RAR".)  I went to bed around midnight.

At 0200 in the morning, I was woken up by this weird beeping. I had no idea what the hell was going on. It was three beeps, then pause, three beeps, repeat. I started looking around and found a microwave and it was beeping. By the time I got to it, it had gone down to one beep with a pause. I knew it was there, but that's it. I hadn't touched it. I hadn't needed it. I guess it was upset I was playing with the fridge next to it and wanted some attention. I just poked a couple of buttons and went back to bed. Yes, I slept well. Odd that it only did it that night, not the one previous. So I guess I did get some paranormal experience while out to the mothman festival.

In the morning, I got up, got breakfast, gassed up the car and drove the 450+/- miles back home (takes about eight hours). Whee.
