Recently finished pendant. 2" in diameter, wood with about a billion layers of watercolors and lacquer. I will give it a test wear tomorrow to see how it holds up and if it needs more clear coat. Did a quickie to test a new technique, coating the wood with gesso prior to painting - worked well... and the paint adheres better to it than just the white acrylic paint I had been using. I also did a few bottle top magnets for a co-worker/friend. She gave me a bunch of metal bottle caps (Samuel Adams, etc) and I'm going to give a few back to her now that they are all decorated. I put two of those bottle caps on bails so they can be worn as necklaces. To keep the back of the caps from tarnishing or greening up a person's skin when they're worn, I coated the backs with a clear acrylic. You can still see part of the IBC logo on one. Drew the comic and it is posted. Also took some marbleized paper I had made, sprinkled a little glitter on them and glued them to acrylic and glass tiles. I'll glue bails on them, too, once their acrylic clear coat dries on them. I guess I'm really serious about this whole setting up a booth at the Fairy Festival thing. I played with some of this spray on fabric dye... fail. Good idea, not very effective. May get some more of the white, cotton bandanas to play with a different type of dye/paint technique. For a depressed person, I love tie-dyed stuff... the brighter the colors, the better. Yet another reason I know that I am weird.
