(no subject)
One of our patients in ICU/CCA sprung a leak. He has been in and out of the hospital for several months due to liver failure and other problems related to alcoholism. He took more units than the GI anyuerism patient a while back. Tonight, this guy took TEN units of blood (at 250 mL a pop) and FOUR units of fresh frozen plasma. At this point, I don't even think he has any of his own blood left - it's all donor. :S It's sad as he's only 52. Used all of our stock in FFP and blood that is his type. Really.
Not much else to talk about. Got a nice email from one of my supervisors about the emergency blood issue I did Friday morning. That was good. :) I may print it out and put it in a scrap book. That way, the next time I feel like a moron, I can reread that. I think that patient is still breathing, too. :D
Over on FA, the comic strip got 35 views. :) Always an ego booster.
I think I'm going to try to make a hat today. Or, at least, start to make a hat.
