Yes, a new icon. The book "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" is written around some old photographs. This fine lady is one of the ancient photographs that I own. Love her hair. And this is very "pre-Aquanet". LOL. It was taken by Charles Eisenmann in NYC.
To give you the full birthday weekend update:
Went to
Catarzynas house on Friday after work. We exchanged gifts - she gave me some direct from China Oolong tea (in this gorgeous tin, too!) and a lovely porcelain tea cup with strainer and lid (with Peacocks!!) She wrapped me in duct tape to make a duct tape dummy for
bladespark to use as a pattern to make my next costume (
http://latinvixen.phpwebhosting.com/dtd.htm). She wrapped it rather tightly so as she cut it off, I got some nicks and abrasions. I'm healing well, though. :) We had a nice lunch with her mom and the miscellaneous fuzzy things. I have to admit, I am quite the geek for critters. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more, the cat Middie or the wiener, Oscar. Once satiated, we made the mistake of going to the mall. Soon as we went in, we hit Teavanna. I got a tea carafe and a cup/ Thermos-type thing. Mmmm. Went to Build-A-Bear - why do I do that? It's seems stupid for a 38 year old to be so in love with stuffed animals... but I don't get to have any REAL animals. When I walked in, I saw that they had a sheep/lamb (
http://www.buildabear.com/shopping/productDetail.jsp?productId=prod10220010&categoryId=). Oh shit. So, now I have Wu Li (play on woolly), another yarn fairy. :D I got her a princess dress, a set of wings (they light up), a tiara and a wand. Jeez. We went to Books-A-Million, too. Got a few books, including the "Miss Peregrine..." one. It was nice but I was out way too long. I didn't get home until around 1600 hours. I made a pot of the oolong which was way too strong... but it's gooood.
Saturday, I just did art around the house as I wasn't feeling right. My head was all swimmy and I was a bit woozy. I think it was due to being up so late. Missed stamp club because of the wonkiness.
Sunday, I read the Miss Peregrine book and looked through some of my old photographs.
There. That's the total recap.
Nothing much else going on.
