It was announced that Osama Bin Laden is dead; killed by US forces in Pakistan. Sorry but I don't think it will do a damned bit of good. Anyone else familiar with the Greco-Roman myth of the hydra? Cut off one head and another will take it's place. Not saying he shouldn't have been punished... but I think we may have just made a martyr rather than punishing him. Why, yes, thank you for noticing. I am a pessimist.
Morons at work. Had KPH (different phleb tonight) called to ER to do a legal BAC who was brought in by the police AND an ambulance (meaning, ambulance w/ police escourt). She was bandaged up and x-rayed. She finds out her passenger is not at our hospital and then promptly freaks out that said person has had to be AIR-LIFTED to HMC due to the trauma he/she suffered. Don't drive drunk you dumbshit and this type of thing is less likely to happen. Congrats! You may have killed a family member (the passenger is an adult - that's all I know). The ER was packed. ER waiting room was packed. One patient was waiting for a while. Left, then came back, then left again. WTF?? Either you are injured/sick or you're not. Make up your f'ing mind. Also, there are OTHER hospitals you can go to if you don't want to wait in our itty bitty waiting room. That idiot is one of our "frequent fliers". What are the odds she's there now?! Idiot. When I walked in, there was a man at the counter talking to the admin. No biggie. Then when I log in the computer system back in the lab (to start work), I find out the guy is 67. OMG! I thought he was at least 20 years older than that! KPH said that as she was drawing his blood, he began to cough and wheeze and his eyes were rolling around. He is now in our critical care unit suffering from respiratory failure. Wow. He went downhill FAST! As in < 2 hours. That's scary. My Dad is 61 and is out playing golf now. He even WALKS the course and carries his bag. Hell, yesterday, I had to yell at him to get off the roof! ("I'm looking for gutter clogs." I don't care! Get the fuck down! Cripes!)
