(no subject)
OK. I think it is time to admit that I have a sleeping disorder. Woke up FOUR TIMES yesterday. Gah! No wonder I'm so bloody grouchy all the time!
Full moon. Do I need to say anything about work? LOL. Actually, we get really interesting cases during the full moon... as well as the loons. First, an interesting case: diabetic came to ER with a glucose level of 40. Normal range is 65-100ish. Patient also had a critically low potassium level. Not good. I called the doc and told him the values. His reply, "We knew about the glucose and that's fixed. Didn't know about the potassium. Guess that's next." Man, he's so hyper/crazy - not! :D You have to love a doc who answers the phone with, "Hi. This is Keith." Not "Doctor Lastname". :D Now for the loony. If you come to the ER asking for a crisis intervention, we will do a blood alcohol test and a drug screen test (for medical purposes only, mind you). If these things come back positive, no, we won't let you "change your mind" and leave whenever you want to. Sorry. It doesn't work that way. Also, for the love of Dog, show up to work on time! Had two people not show up on time... and one called off. Oy vey. Glad I'm not going to be working Friday or Saturday... we have a multiphasic (low cost medical tests for the public)... there are over 500 tests to be done on Friday and over 300 for Saturday. 8-S
I started a shawl. I was trying a couple different pattern stitches. Decided I hated all of them. I'm doing a net looking one instead. It looks nice and the insane yarn doesn't hide the stitches. The yarn I'm using is called "It's A Wrap" and looks like a piece of spaghetti entwined with Muppet barf. Well, ok, it looks a lot nicer but that's the only description I could think of.
Oh, went to the credit union and deposited my birthday check. Stopped at Brown's on the way home. I got food - no purses or anything like that. I did get a purple Mum and a Christmas gift. :D I don't know where to plant the mum so it may just hang out in the pot for a while. I love the color of it though. :D
