I'm up. The comic is up. Had biscuits and jelly for breakfast. Need to shower, wash fur and do a spot of cleaning. May look through books later. Dunno. Am not wanting to go to work tonight. Blah.
Friday and Saturday were the two days of Breeder's Cup 2009. It was really exciting to see the European horses race here against our (USA) horses. It was a big day yesterday as Zenyatta, a 5-year-old mare, was going into the Breeder's Cup Classic (a race paying 5 million $) as being undefeated in 13 starts. It was her first race against males - some of them being as old as she is, while others were younger. All were quite a fierce challenge and many in the betting world did not see her winning. After all, *ahem* she's just a girl. Heh. Who SMOKED 'EM! Won by a length over Gio Ponti. BITE ME, you sexist bastards. She is now a perfect 14 for 14... all of which have been graded stakes races (very difficult, high quality races). I hope she wins the Eclipse Horse of the Year award. She deserves it. :) For those of you who read my comic strip, last week Sunflower was dressed as a jockey. The color of her silks (shirt and cap) were a tribute to Zenyatta.
"USA Today had 14 people handicap the race. None picked Zenyatta."
