So, I was watching the new episode of "Dr. G.: Medical Examiner" last night when she began to profile her "current case": African American male, in his 60s, was said to not partake of alcohol or illicit drugs, not much in the way of medical history as he lived quite fit. However, he began drinking a lot - iced tea, water, typical non-alcoholic beverages. She found nothing PHYSICALLY wrong (IE: no sclerotic arteries or trauma) so she did toxicology testing which came back with EXTREMELY high levels of acetone. I knew then that the dude had died of ketone acidosis... but it takes her 5-10 minutes to tell the viewers at home that. Sighes. If I can figure out how a person died before a medical examiner... we gots a problem. :S
Made a couple of cards after doing homework. Cleaned a bit.
Second day of hematology went well. I've been dead tired all day, though. :S
Dad left for where-ever-the-hell-he-is-going today. He's going to make the rounds: WV, OH, MO, GA, and FL to see relatives in each state. Well, in theory he's going to see his brother in MO... whether or not James is there (or in prison, you never know with Jim) is another matter. Once I graduate - ok, once I finish clinicals - I may go down to WV, OH and GA. Gotta see
CornerOfMadness before she moves to WI or somewhere. She lives near where my aunt and cousin live in OH (they're in Gallipolis).
Not much else going on. More homework tonight. Then maybe I'll artsy fartsy.
