Why, yes, that is a new icon. Mooched from icanhascheezburger.com.

And, yes, I am recovered. I called Garden Fairy who, though ill, still talked to me and cheered me up. I also found my blood bank info cards and my BBK book.

I apologize for being a twit. I'm not going to apologize to the dude, though. He can lick me. I think the part that got me so worked up is the way I reacted to his bullshit. I gotta learn how to deal with rejection better. Criticism to help me draw better/whatever, yeah, ok. That's good. Telling me that I am "repugnant" - you can fuck off.

OK! Enough of dwelling on that shit.

Today I am 35 yrs old + 1 day. I literally got into a heated discussion with a person at the lab as to what my age was. She could not believe that I am 35. OK, hon, I've known me my whole life... I think I know how old I am. Yeah, this has been made into a comic strip. :D I should totally go to the York Fair (more info here:http://www.yorkfair.org/) and find someone to guess my age. >:-D Win me some cheap ass toy.

I got to do tests on four real patients today. :) That's always cool. I like getting hands on training. Two of those were types and screens on umbilical cord blood for babies to screen for hemolytic disease of the newborn.

Heh. To quote the website about the history of the York Fair, "The traditions of fairs in the New World began with the York Fair, America’s first fair, held in the historic old Town of York in 1765, eleven years before the nation was founded." And they still have the SAME rides and attractions as 1765, too! :P

My friend Barb was at the lab today, too. She services lab equipment and we have several analyzers that her company makes. She brought in a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and a red velvet cake. :9 Purrrrrr. I had a small piece of each. She even gave me a card that she made - a star book! She also included the directions on how to make one. :) (Here is a link to what one looks like - http://tinyurl.com/67s57c) Artsy fartsy!

When I came home, I had a letter and card from Denise plus a huge ass package from djdillydally. The package had an awesome purse (does she know me or what?!), a ton of magazines about quilting AND a freakin' amazingly-oh-so-cool renaissance shirt! I will be wearing that out this weekend, thankyouverymuch.

Since I was in a poopy mood, I called Garden Fairy and she perked me up. I then set about drawing a new comic strip. Took me all night and I just got it inked. Another Yule and Moira clash. >:)

Well, need to get to bed.

clinical rotation, blood bank, birthdays
