OK. After school, I get home to check my mail. There, on the table in the kitchen, is a post card for me... from Locks of Love. I donated 12" of my hair, what?, 6 or 7 months ago and they just NOW sent me a card? I guess maybe they just recently made a wig out of it for someone. How is that for a warm fuzzy?? *Smiles*
Today in a bucket (or, for the LOLcat readers, in a bukkit):
Studied for Parasitology/Mycology image exam all day, interspersed with a short Microbiology lecture and part one of a lab practical (streaking plates, etc). Had a quickie lab practical in my Chem class - I goofed up by not using the MLA pipettes but that was the only procedural error I made. Time will show if I did the math write. (I saw a shirt I would like to get: "ART MAJOR: YOU do the math!")
I don't remember if I posted about my aunt Elsie yesterday or not. So, I will either recap or be telling you for the first time. I'm naturally blonde, am running on maybe 4 hours sleep and I've have had two Mountain Dews and a HIGHLY sugared iced tea. Forgive me, I beg. (I actually typed "bed" for "beg" - that is how tired I am.)
Elsie is the second oldest of my Dad's sibs. (There are 13 so she is #2... but only in numerical order... my uncle in Missouri is a real #2.) Since she is one of the first and Dad is one of the last (he's #11), she is kind of like his second mum. A few years ago, she had stomach cancer. She had to undergo a lot of chemotherapy and such but she got better. She was doing really well considering she's in her 70s somewhere. Her husband died last year around this time. Now SHE is in the hospital for a hernia operation. She can't keep any food in and what she has in, she can't get out. Now, is this cancer coming back or is it really a hernia? We don't know yet. She was to undergo surgery today. Just what I need during finals season - a sick relative to worry about. ARGH!
With that typed, I need to get off of here so I won't tie up the phone if the "News Service" (aunt Dorothy or/and uncle O'Dell) call.
college,
