OK. I know I wasn't here yesterday and I apologize. I was busy and then tired so I just went to bed. Bleah. So, to recap:
Friday:
Work. Was super busy! But, I got all my assignments done with one minute to spare. :-D Didn't get to chat too much with anyone but that's ok.
After work, I went to Ben Franklin, the craft store that is going out of business. Most stuff was only 20% off. :-S I couldn't find any of the candles that Garden Fairy wanted. (They only had Yankee and Colonial company candles that I could see. That was a very crowded aisle though. Anyway, candles were only 20% off so wait a few weeks.) I did rummage through the yarn (20% off) and got several skeins of yarn to make socks out of. I love wool socks. I also got some felt sheets to assist in my amigurumi. I bought some beads, too, so when I finally get a free weekend, I can teach Chirpy (co-worker) how to do bead stringing. :-D Even though stuff was on sale, it wasn't that big of a benefit. I did get some nice yarn, though. :-) Yes, I am a yarn whore... which gives me a reason to use my Big Balls icon! Mwa-ha-ha-ha!
Last night, I began my work on a free pattern. I'm a member of a LJ community that deals with amigurumi. This month's challenge is to take a free pattern given and tweak it your way. For crochet, we were given the amigurumi dude pattern from crochetme.com. I started the head last night. Once he is done, I will post him.
Saturday:
Brother
arthurpod and I went to Border's. I bought more shit than I should have but I couldn't help myself. Plus, my financial aid should be dispersed next week. :-D (Oh, and I should get a check from Pres. Bushie sometime this year. Heh.) (If I do get the federal tax check thing, I will probably put it toward my credit card.) Anyway, I got some great books. I bought the new issue of Craft: and it is FABULOUS! I love the weird projects people come up with. :-)
Manga: #1-6 of "+Anima". Anthropomorphs! Can't wait to read it. And I got #1 of "Moonlight Meow". This is about a guy who turns into a cat. Yeah. Cat boys? Gotta have it!
Regular Books: Ok. You already know I'm a nerd. If you need one final tidbit as proof, I purchased my own copy of "The Little Book of Pandemics: 50 of the World's Most Virulent Plagues and Infectious Diseases". There is just something about those cute little bugs. Ebola! SARS! MRSA! AIDS! Malaria! They're cute when they're in petri dishes and on microscope slides. I swear I should go into infectious disease medicine. Heh heh.
US Comic Books: I don't know if it is obvious or not, but I love comic strips. I have a massive collection of books like "Bloom County", "Calvin & Hobbes", "The Far Side" (that explains a lot about me, doesn't it?), "Get Fuzzy", "Frazz", "Pearls Before Swine" and so on. Today, I picked up a "Peanuts" book. God help me, but I truly miss Charles Schulz.
Saturday Night:
This is the second Saturday of the month and this usually means that I would have the rubber stamp club meeting. However, they aren't having it this month. My mentor/friend/older sister (does this mean I'm Jewish, too??) Barb asked for me to have supper with her tonight before she heads back to NJ. :-D So, I get to go to Ruby Tuesdays! :-D YAY! Afterwards, I will come home and watch the beginning event of the NASCAR season. I'm not sure why I will watch that. Maybe there will be a new episode of "Dale Hinman" or something better to watch. NASCAR is only fun to watch with Dad... and my uncle who died last year, Sam. Sigh.
I was going to write something else but my brain locked up. BRZT! Shit. Oh well, if I remember what it was, I'll post again.
