Over due post, I know. Sorry. Not feeling really well the past couple of days.
Yesterday was work. No biggie. Had a lot to do and I got it all done. :-) Love that. Garden Fairy gave me a cool shirt and a gorgeous dress. I tried both on last night and the dress fits perfectly but the shirt is a bit short. I'd have to wear it with a skirt so I'll be on the look out for a nice denim or black skirt. Yeah, I'll go thrifting later. Anyway, yes, I wear had-me-ups. Garden Fairy is smaller than I but she gets all kinds of stuff. She's like me, dresses for comfort over fashion... which is one of the reasons we get along really well. :-)
Comic News Flash: STFU has a new bassist! His name is Wallace Golarzi and he's a frilled lizard (like this:
http://tinyurl.com/3yw2k9). I came up with the idea while at work. I multitask! He is a shy, nervous/somewhat neurotic lizard but when he's on stage, he's a rock god! I will post illustrations on the "Art Fumes" site sometime. :-)
Also,
CoonWulf, you need to let me know what illustration you'd like for winning the Name the Band Contest.
I went to Wal-Fart after work to get some supplies. Whee. Why do people put their cart on the left side of the aisle when they're looking at things on the RIGHT side of the aisle?? WTF is up with that? Hello? Jeez!
Last night I worked on my bead embroidery while watching shows about shipwrecks. For those not aware, I am absolutely terrified of drowning but I am also enthralled with underwater animal life. So, to satisfy my desire to learn about aquatic life, I watch "scary to me" tv shows about ships and reefs. I blame this terror on being 13 when the HMS Titanic was found back in the 80s. I read the National Geographic about the discovery and it was so fascinating but frightening at the same time.
Now it is afternoon of today. I had a nightmare about a serial killer who looked like Larry Storch from the old tv show, "F Troop", and this guy I used to know who was the killers son in the dream. Talk about F'ed up! It scared me so badly that I awoke to realize that my alarm had not gone off, it was noon and I was drenched with sweat. *Shivers* Don't think I'll be watching "Attack of the Eye Creatures" or whatever that MST3K is with Storch in it for a while. I also have bad allergies this morning as well as a headache. The tooth doesn't hurt though. Hee hee.
Tonight, a friend (my "mentor" in the MLT program) and I are going to Ruby Tuesday's for supper and then to our art club. I don't know how late I will stay since I feel like crud.
As a nicety for a friend, please go to
http://tinyurl.com/3b227a to see her collection of jewelry for sale. She is getting ready to go on a cruise and needs some pin money. I will admit that, yes, I could make the stuff, too, but I feel it is important to support artists. Especially LOCAL artists and one's who are my friends. :-) I lone it when my friends make things for me. :-)
I also decided what I will be making my boss, Bunny, for her 40th birthday. :-D She has always remarked that, if a steel I-Beam fell through the ceiling and hit me in the head, she wanted this necklace:
http://tinyurl.com/2wxyvy. Thus, I'm going to make a version of it for her. I purchased a big glass leaf bead at Wal-Mart last night (of all places!!) that is green with gold metallic highlights in it. I will use it as the focal part. It was only $3!! Ok. It's not like the $25 art glass pendant on my necklace (as seen in the above photo) but it's still nice. I have a selection of matte finished green beads and some gold metallic ones that I will use for Bunny's. Oh, and I'm going to put bunny rabbits on hers whereas mine is just flowers and insects. :-) Once it's complete, I will post a photo of it.
Now I am going to go take a billion Tylenols and get ready for art club.
