Click to viewMusic is awesome. It transcends language barriers. I honestly think musicians are amazing because anyone can enjoy music. Even though I usually have no idea what Hamasaki Ayumi is singing in her songs, I love her to pieces. (Same for Utada Hikaru, Ito Yuna, and all my other favorite J-pop artists)
Sometimes when I'm listening to music, I feel something. It's like... the song stands for something, or conveys a feeling. Whenever I hear Utada Hikaru's song "Blue" I remember the line 'mou ichido' which I translate as 'So just once more' so to me it's a song about trying something again, and that's why the song makes me feel refreshed and happy and sad, because Utada's been hurt before, but she's trying to trust again.
(Damn, I really should have a link to the song Blue. Alright, it's here for all you lazy people)
Anyway, the song I linked above is called "Eternity" and it's from the Final Fantasy X-2 OST. I haven't finished the game ('Cause oh my god, I have to level up 30 freaking levels to even have a chance at winning against the final boss?!!!) but every time I start up the game, I hear this song.
I LOVE this song.
It makes me think... 'nostalgia' and it makes me want to cry. I think of people sitting around, spending eternity, drowning in nostalgia with faint smiles on their faces. This concept of... 'I remember who I used to be, and I'm trying to understand myself now'
This song makes me want to write tear-filled angst, that's how much it rocks.
