Empires 6/4
Last night was Empires' record release show at the Subterranean which was awesome despite being five million degrees. I missed the first opening band because of traffic, but I caught Made in Hollywood who were awesome. Very fun, energetic, and covered Miley Cyrus which totally hit my love for rock versions of bubblegum pop songs. I was also impressed with HeyChris; he's a very engaging, charismatic speaker and he's obviously passionate about what he does.
Empires were amazing, of course, and continue to be the most earnest, precious boys ever. Sean thanked us for singing along to "All Night Long," Tom wore a sweatervest even though it was hotter than hell in there, and they had stickers! Afterward we hung around for a while, I bought my copy of Howl, and we got food. When we got back an hour later they were still hanging around, so we regaled the sidewalk with "Don't Stop Believing" and talked to Max for a while.

And last but not least, happy birthday to Pete, my most favorite BNF of all. ♥
