Hiya everyone!

Okey, so Mei and I went to see Ashes and Snow at the pier on Friday. Um... imagine really really pretty imagery and photographs and slo-mo film of elephants, whales, people, birds, and wild kitties, and then... nothing. There is no real meaning, no sirree Bob. It's just a pretty, going-for-a-spiritual-experience kinda thing, when the entire time you're beating yourself over the head trying to find the symbolism in a canoe with an ocelot on it slowly passing between two ebony, stone-faced maidens standing to their teats in the Nile heading towards an old lady with a baby tapir on her head and a book so drenched with water the paper looks like wrinkled skin... or a man underwater having some kind of belly-rubbing contest with a manatee, or androgenous children playing amongst the elephants followed by women writhing(dancing?) up against the cumbersome, wizened beasts... I just don't gets it I tells ya. Trust me I tried. And I saw some things, but that could be caused by me just filling in the blanks for the artist. The rest all seemed such fluff.

Anyhow~ synopsis of Ashes and Snow: $10 (student), expect to spend some time (movies make it 1hr+), expect pretty pictures and stuff moving about, and it may help to know some Hinduism and Eastern religions. Oh, and bring drugs.

On that note, that didn't stop us from going to the Santa Monica Pier the next day! (it tried) We took some pictures while there, and we have plans to extract more images from that place later. Rollercoaster + ferris wheel over the ocean = nice and relaxing. Also, we saw some azns taking pictures of a "Smoking Area" sign. They thought it was hilarious that we relegate smokers to a 2x6' box.

That aside, I think I have more links for you here... or no. maybe later. I have paper!s to write. !_!
