eheheh, I feel a bit of a jerk. To any of you that read my last post and checked yourself for any new and strange markings, my heart goes out to you. No worries. Just check the date and it'll all be clear ^_^. There's no contagious skin ailment, no horrible operation and subsequent stay in a hospital, and no uber-powerful meds. Just a brand new kitten.
For those of you that were with me last Friday, you may have noticed my mother shuffling around the house late in the evening in her PJ's. What you may not have noticed, however, was the little black ball of fur chirping nonstop in her arms. It turns out that the kitten's mother had abandoned it in a planter in our backyard, and the entire day my mom thought it was a baby bird until curiosity got the better of her. Anyway, the kitten's name is birdy =P and as of now he's a little over a week old.
He's the tiniest cat i've ever seen, but he's fattened up significantly. His eyes haven't developed yet, so he's blind. I've been taking care of it when my mom has work/class. It's a lot like feeding a real baby, since it's so young. Bottles, burping, and the fact that cats don't start life able to use the litter box certainly make it an undesirable chore. But at least he's finished mewling nonstop, and he's actually kinda cute the way he walks around all wobbly.
Maybe I'll pst pic of him once I can get ahold of a camera.
EDIT: on a post-April Fools' thought, keep this in mind:
Every time you open the mail, you're handling someone else's spit.
