My lease is up sooner than I anticipated (Go short term memory!), and I will be free to move about the city as of October 1st. So then, it's time to be apartment hunting. I checked out the place where
Doubleonad lives, but they wanted 700 bucks for a "small" one bedroom apartment. And utilities. Meh.
Another apartment complex a bit south of there wanted only 620, but still was asking for utilities to be paid seperately. At this rate I may just move back to those crappy apartments in North Mesa, pay 630 a month and get my utilities included. But I was really hoping to find something closer to SCC, without as much random gunfire.
I'll also need a part time job. I might have a paid internship lined up, but my counselor hasn't gotten back to me yet, so that's still up in the air.
Oh, and my step-dad turns 70 next weekend, so I have to find a way to get my car serviced and scrape together gas money so I can drive to California for the weekend. Anyone want to buy some anime DVDs?
*sigh*
On the bright side, PAX was awesome. I went to a concert by the Minibosses (I'm trying to get them for AniZona, they're local), won 4th place in the D&D open tournament (
doubleonad won second!), got to meet Tycho and Gabe of Penny Arcade, and won a free T-Shirt at the D&D Online party thrown by Turbine on Friday night.
On Monday before our plane left
doubleonad and I toured Seattle. We went on the Underground tour, visited the open air market and I even managed to get him to go to the top of the Space Needle (We have pictures as proof!).
In WoW related news, my guild defeated Lucifron on our first foray into Molten Core while I was gone (woohoo!) and we'll be trying Maggy again tomorrow.
Classes are nearly in full swing for me now. I'm taking a Photoshop class twice a week, plus I'll be working on the Campus radio station and on a TV production called "Maricopa Magazine" as a cameraman and editor. "Live...On Tape" is done for now but I may be working on that some more this fall if it takes off. At the end of October I'll begin pre-production for my first student film as well (35mm, music only).
Busy Busy. I should probably start updating my journal more often as well. Meh, we'll see.
