For the record: Angela is fine, living far away from the disaster (about 600 miles, closer to Hiroshima) and all my friends have given their life signs.
At Angela's place, it's all "business as usual" though I admit that I'd rather have her out of there right now, but I assume it would mean breaking her contract. Fukushima has been classified as level 4 on the nuclear emergency scale, which is describing a local disaster. So far.
Please, if you can spare a penny or cent, think about donating to the Red Cross or
Nonbelievers giving aid, so your money is sure to be used for immediate help and care and catastrophe relief only.
If you want to be sure your money arrives where it is needed, stay away from organizations such as the "Diakonie" and the "Salvation Army".
Thank you for your help,
Petra
