No, the new (or not-so-new, this is old news I guess) cancer screening guidelines are NOT the government/insurance companies trying to save money. There are actual legitimate reasons for the guideline revisions, and arguably the old guidelines should never have been implemented.
Some people don't seem to understand that mammograms / CATs / stuff can be dangerous and should not be randomly used just because you can. No, it is not "better safe than sorry". A mammogram is a X-ray. X-rays are radiation. I could get over this risk factor if it weren't for the fact that mammograms suck and don't even work well.
