This past weekend was hot, and I'm talking about the weather. It was so hot that I was inperspired to install a ceiling fan my parents brought the last time they visited. I've written in the past about all the stuff my parents foisted on us, including a semi-working lawn mower which I was able to repair, mostly.

This particular fan was second-hand, and came from the clubhouse at a campground where they have a membership. I spent most of the day Saturday climbing ladders in our great room, which has a 20' high ceiling at its peak, running wiring and installing it. This was extremely sweaty work.

Unfortunately, the fan was a piece of crap and didn't really do its job.

Not to be beaten down by a junk fan, I decided to get a new one since I already had all the wiring and mounting hardware in place - off to the big box hardware store Sunday morning and back home in two shakes of a lamb's jiffy. Except, you know, that wiring didn't look quite the way I wanted it, and I really should redo it and move things around a bit. So, it was back up on the ladder, completely revamping the wiring and all, and I finally got around to installing the fan itself late in the afternoon. But, with a break for The Final Destination with yotie and theottsel in the evening, I didn't get the new fan completed until about midnight, by which time the weather had cooled off considerably.
