Pregnancy Induced Insanity

I'm three seconds from losing it in class.

Everyone is TALKING so LOUD and its giving me a headache and I'm going to stand up and demand that everyone SHUT UP in about thirty seconds.

Ghah.

more rambling about my belly:

Got dropped off at Chapters yesterday by Mel while waiting for my car to be done in the shop. Spark plugs and the hold button and the airbag only goes on for me 50/50. Hung around and read through The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy which was hilarious. Informative and funny and kept me laughing to myself in my corner at Chapters. I could skip through most of the medical things, but I found the symptoms chapters endlessly illuminating. I think I'd honestly recommend it to patients. Especially anyone who is a 'Toronto girl' or would love to be from L.A. But even for the rest of us, it was funny.

Talked all about pregnancy brain, too, which is why I can recognize my near homocidal inclinations as a wee bit over the top. :D

Overall I'm feeling well, though. The nausea is improved, if still present mostly in the morning and the evenings. The second trimester GI pause has certainly begun: if I eat just a liiiiittle too much, usually I'd got for a walk and things would settle and I'd feel better. So not happening any more. I have to puke or its not going anywhere. It was gross to stop on the side of the Kingsway and spew my lunch everywhere, but at least afterwards I did feel better.

I also stopped by the Maternity Store for the first time. It's nice in there, Dr. B recommended the one in New S, not downtown, because it has more professional clothes. And it didn't look too bad. Nothing I'm quite in need of yet, but useful in a few months. Especially since I'll be doing hospitalist work, hopefully, and needing to look reasonably professional.

But I did buy the pregnancy belt and I think its pretty awesome. Its a black thin elastic fabric that holds up my half unbuttoned pants while I laze about in reasonable comfort. I wore it on Wednesday to work and looooved it.

Also hit up Walmart for cheap stretchy yoga pants and bought two sets. Then hit up prenatal yoga on Tuesday night over at Cedar street. It was actually really nice, and its the wife of one of the ER doc's who runs it. So it feels kind of like I have an in, and I opened up and talked to the other woman in the class. It felt good, like belonging to a secret club. *g* You only have to get knocked up to join ;)

My hair is driving me to distraction and I desperately need a cut. The Girlfriend's Guide warned about radical new hairstyles, so no matter how much I want to cut it all off I will respect the wisdom of those who have come and born spawn before. Just a small cut, to get it under some kind of control. Also my hairdresser was newly pregnant with her second last time I was there, and I'm hoping she's doing well.

Well, back to class.  Some guy from T.Bay is droning on about dermatology.  Its interesting, but I'm drowning in more important things I haven't done, so I'm going to work on my research project instead ;)

Plus I brought my knitting.  Duh.  :D
