Now I'm really worried
I have this colleague/mentor/friend in my profession, who has been for years a dedicated public defender. She believes truly and whole-heartedly in what she does and has often said that her life is providing quality defense for the indigent.
Yesterday I found out that she has accepted a job at the District Attorney's Office (prosecution).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking her at all for any decision she makes. Like myself, she has to do what is best for her, her family, and her life; plus I'm sure they are paying her muchos dollars (which she more than deserves, being the most fantastic trial attorney I have ever met). And the Lord knows that I would be more than willing to switch sides if anyone would pay me more.
But this is the last person in the world I would have thought would switch sides. I've been racking my brains trying to figure out what happened and the only logical explanation that I could come up with is that it must be Armageddon.
Seriously, nothing else but the end of the world even remotely makes sense.
