So Much Changes, Yet It Remains The Same

Where to begin....

Phe is in pre-k. She started there in August. It is a wonderful school, and she attends Monday through Thursday from 7:45-10:30. She just loves it. There were 3 other children in her class (one girl, two boys), so the teacher-student ratio is excellent. Two new boys joined last week, so she is getting to know them as well.

She has gone on a few playdates with one of the boys, and has a ball. She is still not as verbal as we would like, but is progressing nicely. Her progress report shows that she is on track to meet her IEP goals so far this year.

We found a house in Greensboro that we absolutely love. It is huge (almost 1800 sq ft), and we are in process of signing all the paperwork to make it ours. We should be moving into it in early December.

Phe is still having occasional nosebleeds, so I took her to an ear/nose/throat doctor a week ago. They had me take her down to the lab to draw some blood to test for allergies. Oh, was THAT not fun. I had to sit with her on my lap, pinning her legs between mine. I had to put an arm across her chest and hold her shoulder, then use the other hand to hold her free hand so she wouldn't try and swat at them. They tried one arm, and the vein blew. They said that happens with young children sometimes, since their veins are still small. The bad thing was that since the vein blew and they had to try the other arm, she knew what was going to happen the second time around. Much crying, screaming, and many tears later, it got done. We still have about a week left until the results are back.

I am hoping she isn't allergic to the cats. The doctor said it takes kids immune systems about 3-4 years to fully develop, so it is possible she is allergic to them. But we won't know for sure until we get the tests back. Too much to do right now anyway. I am hunting for boxes to start putting things in, and we have the joyful process of deciding what goes and what stays. Thankfully, all the clothes Dave's mother sends him that are "too precious to wear" (ie, FUGLY), will go....

Will update when I can, but still have much paperwork getting and faxing.
