I saw my first woodpecker of the season, and heard an odd trill I usually associate with raptor chicks but might well have been the woodpecker.
Didn't get the full-time game designer bit, but no worries. I'm actually surprised they responded, considering they said they wouldn't except for a positive; I was expecting to hear nothing.
The lights flickered yesterday afternoon; later found to be caused by a vehicle colliding with a telephone pole and lines going down.
I walked just over nine miles yesterday, this time neither through intention nor stubbornness. "Clusterfuck" is the term used, yes?
http://wsbradio.com/blogs/wsb_traffic_center/2010/03/big-delays-on-i7585nb-and-nort.html What up with that, Atlanta? It was more pragmatism that convinced me to walk rather than wait for the bus, since I was convinced it would be faster... and I didn't see a bus going my way the entire way up Clairmont. On the way back, I saw two buses, but they were both heading for Laredo (essentially "out of service", for those unfamiliar with MARTA). There was a third bus that passed me that actually said "19 - Decatur", but I was on the wrong side of the street and already in Decatur at that point, so fuggedaboudit.
Also, the sky yesterday was gorgeous. (One of the good things about impending gloom and air pollution, I suppose.) Rose and lavender waves poured slowly down the celestial sphere, and I was compelled to stop and watch for a few minutes... not to mention the sore calves. Early to bed.
I'm roommates with Lydia again, and I'm assuming Ryan although I never see him directly in the movie dream. We're in a dusty-blue-painted wood house with lots of staircases and odd spaces - nooks, offices off of mid-staircase landings, balconies... not unlike one of Omm's church workplaces in San Francisco, come to think of it. There are already tons of animals in the house, but an older ocelot-patterned cat chooses me on my way home. I have a hard time teaching him the niceties of "don't scratch the furniture, don't eat others' food, poop here and not on the rug", and he's pretty friendly with the cats but he keeps hissing at curious dogs. There was another component I don't remember.
Tonight takes me to Metrofresh for a combination charity dinner and coworkers' book club (I haven't read the book, but the charity angle pushed me over the top). I might be going straight from there to 80s vs 90s at "The Shelter", or bouncing back there from home; not sure yet. My legs are not going to be happy with me one way or the other, going from a hike yesterday to dancing today. Probably doing platelets Saturday, and having a game night at my place Saturday night (I stole Raul's since he's on vacation).
