Testing, Testing ... Is This Thing Still On?
... Or better yet, are there still people on my friends list who check in?
I'd like to apologize (yet again) for not posting much - I've had other things take away my attention, and the internet, in general, can be one hell of a timesuck.
In short, it's a new year, I'm returning to college to build up my skill set, get some sort of a degree, get some certifications, hopefully increase my chances of getting a new job. -- I'm still looking for work, even seven months after being laid off. Yeah, it's not easy, but I could always be giving it a lot more effort. At least I'm getting back into it.
My life, well... Sometimes I feel a bit insignificant, but that's my own fault. I've been dealing with some issues that I've been hiding away for a great deal of time, mainly 25+ years. Some of you who have been paying attention to my Facebook (Of which that one has been locked down, and I'm considering locking down all of my posts on here again, in order to cover my butt -- Note to prospective employers: You will not find any dirt or reasons to not consider me for hiring, an interview, or whatever, on here. What I do in my free time does not, and should not have any bearing on how well of a worker I am. I've come off 10+ years of steady employment, and I am just as good as anyone else.), you might be able to figure some things out, if you're willing to put in a little time digging below the surface.
I know I did mention it about a year ago, and I am drafting up a short list of people I feel I can trust, in the hopes of letting them know a little bit more about me than most of the people I've met at cons, cosplay gatherings, meetups, or anywhere else, know about me, beyond what they've seen of me.
In a way, I'm evolving a bit, trying to take a little bit from the past, and repurpose it for the future. Laura, you were right about one thing -- The end of my job in Relay was probably the best thing that happened to me, and it probably happened to me at about the right time in my life. I'm still trying to discover what Life After Relay has in store for me. Consider yourself on my "short list".
Everyone else on here, the ones who post regularly, or at least check back in, you're all under consideration.
