Antsy and anticipating and (as ancillary) argumentative

HELLO again my friend. You may have noticed that I'm still around, and not in India as I said I was going to be. The reason for this is that I have yet to get an important piece of mail which was supposed to have come last week. Anyway, whatever, I have nothing more to say. If I do write anything more I fear it would be a very angry and insulting rant that I would later recant.

Time for another R A N T !!!!!!

I have been bored these days so, along with other distractions, I have been wasting time looking at Hot or Not, Rate Desi, and even at How Many Would it Take?. In the comments section, particularly at Rate Desi, I noticed a new kind of language being employed by the many people in my generation who chose to post pictures and profiles and write comments. I think I'm fairly well versed in English and I have watched enough television and interacted with peers to be familiar with the vernacular but this is a new breed of language altogether. I won't horrify you with specific examples, but terms such as "im gUnNa drOp u a dyme"[sic] and "holla bac" [sic] were widely in use. I don't understand why people who know better would willing choose to distort and garble their virtual voices so as to mask their intelligence and promote ignorance. I know that I'm not alone in this sentiment, and I'm certain the logic behind my words is easily evident. Bill Cosby in the last link somewhat brazenly tells the story as it for the poor black community that choose and promote ignorance in their culture. I know most of the Indians and others that post at the Rate Desi site aren't ignorant or even poor, but the way they behave suggests that they are lacking in values. I mean by this, by rejecting proper english and dressing like gangsters (the headband and hat motif is recurring) indicates that this is an ideal and they don't aspire to be the best they could be as our teachers and leading members of society are, as prior generations did. Perhaps I'm out of touch with society, and the corruption in the upper echelons is what is corrupting our generation, or even this is the norm and I'm corrupt for idolizing people like my father, or Dr. William French Anderson, or Bill Gates, or the other people I know of that have been successful in life, are down to earth, and are not corrupt. I know in my heart that I'm right though, if our society is to progress further, we must overcome this tide of ignorance and stupidity and embrace once more the notions of spirituality, honor, and knowledge
