Last night I rushed home after work and got all dressed up to visit the Plymouth City Council meeting and witness Todd and 7 others officially end their probationary firefighter status and receive their oath & badges. I'm looking forward to more pictures but for now I have just the one on my cell phone. It was a good event and nice to see everyone there. It doesn't seem that long ago when I was doing the same. Congrats Todd!!!
I rushed home after that to get to my Foosball tournament in Burnsville. If you look back a couple weeks you'll read of the first time Kevin and I went and the fun we had. This time proved to be much different, however, because of who we played with and how we did. Johnny Horton, the World Champ I mentioned in the previous post, was drawn as my partner. Wow. I was so intimidated but I actually felt pretty good. Over the next several hours we made it to the championship and lost, so we took second place for the night. It didn't even occur to me that meant we won cash! Ha ha! $80-some dollars split two ways and some good pointers and compliments from "the legend".
Unfortunately, doing well in the tournament meant being there late so it's going to be a long day today! PFD has EMS training tonight which I will try to attend if I can, then the coming days have everything from clothes shopping to snowmobiling to preparing for the trip next week!
