And it's pretty and fast and I loves it, my precious! I shall scornfully kick the old one to the curb now.
The Evil Report of Evil which has been kicking my ass for the last two months finally went out yesterday. There are a couple of problems still, but two are out of my control, and the other is minor enough that we'd decided to go ahead without it. Yet Another Problem reared its ugly head Thursday, but I beat it with a hammer till it went away. My boss proclaimed me a genius. If I were a genius, I'd have spotted it weeks ago. It's just that no one else in the department has the slightest idea of how this Frankenstein's monster of a report works, so me understanding maybe 75% of it appears miraculous. I have seriously been asked to give a presentation on How This Report Works.
Ponder of the day: I wonder if, back in the day, Rossini fans complained that Mozart was writing Count Almaviva OOC in The Marriage of Figaro.
