An observation
Bo is the only dog I've ever had who barks in his sleep. And he's definitely asleep. His mouth stays shut, but he makes these sort of muted "Wurf wurf wurf!" type barks. His feet twitch, and you can see his eyes moving under his eyelids, so he must be in the doggie equivalent of REM sleep, and dreaming about chasing trucks...
