Did a lot more yardwork this morning, then made the tactical error of going to Home Depot and getting a new lawn sprinkler. Watering the lawn, of course, will just make it grow and require me to mow it again. Woe.
I got the striped agave planted last week, both the big one I bought and all the little suckers coming up from the roots. I picked this one specifically for the suckers, because I planned to separate them out and see if I could get any of them to take. There were about a dozen of them, and I planted them along the front fence on either side of the cereus cuttings. If I'm lucky, maybe half of them will survive. I also saw a pink honeysuckle while I was there and bought it on a whim, though it's really getting too late in the year to plant anything here. We'll be hitting 100 degrees by the end of April at the rate we're going this year. I'll plant it tomorrow and hope for the best.
We picked nine or ten bags of grapefruit, and there are still dozens of them up there. They've got to come off as the new fruit is starting to set. If anyone wants grapefruit...
