Well, problem solved - Dog was gone when I got up this morning. Possibly she’ll come back since she knows she can get food here, and if so, I’ll try to find and stop up whatever hole she’s using. Sigh.

I'm surprised that she didn't stick around. Maybe she is trying to go home.

Kathy saw her in the front yard a bit ago, but she still won't come near anyone, and trots off if you try to get close. :(

Well, she's still in the neighborhood, (Kathy saw her when she went out) so maybe she'll come back for more food.

She's still hanging around - Kathy saw her in the front yard. But she won't let us get near her. :(

Tricks you can try include sitting on the ground and seeing if she'll come to you (best with goodies, of course). I've discovered getting on their level generally makes skittish dogs come to me faster than not.

Tried that a bit last night, but no dice. If she does get into the yard again, I'm going to plug up the gap where I think she's getting in and out, and that'll give us more time to win her over if she can't get out of the yard.

If you have food, I bet she'll come back. That's how we ended up with the feral outdoor kitty that ate our screens. She could see that we had food through the windows. *squirms uncomfortably under Yard Kitty's bold stare*

Poor puppy. :(

We'll have to see. At the very least, I know she's been in this general area for three days, so she doesn't seem to be traveling.
