Sort of a survey

The subject of the percentage of male vs female writers came up over in shadowkat67's LJ, and I'm curious. How many male fanfic writers are writing BtVS fic? Are there any who used to write it, but have stopped? I'm assuming that while the majority of fic writers in this fandom are female, there are probably more guys doing it than we usually think ( Read more... )

I'll delurk for this, sorry I'm such a weenie and haven't posted before, but this topic always makes me laugh. Apparently a lot of people thought I was a guy for a while, which makes my ovaries sad and the rest of me chuckle.

Add redwulf50 and lostboy to the list.

This makes me wonder about the ethics of outing men in such a female space.

Speaking personally, if I was bothered about people knowing my gender I wouldn't have put my real first name at the top of my LJ. I do know at least one person who deliberately makes no reference to their gender online; it's a choice I can respect even if I don't exactly understand it...
