Rambling updates. <3
Work continues on endlessly.
Current date for going into production is the 9th of May, but it may slip again - depends on other projects now, not ours.
For a few days I had nothing to do other than read news articles and write little vbscripts to make my life easier. Now they've started another round of testing, so I'm back into defect-fixing as they raise them.
Sort of hoping that they don't let it slip again, because my team leader will be going away from around mid May to mid June and I don't really want to face production alone.
Hit 6000km on my bike just the other day, so I'm taking it in for a service tomorrow. It's nice that I no longer need a service every 3 months. It's been 5 months since I got the 1000km service, so I think that's pretty good. Going on a long trip soon, though, so the next won't be so long.
Bike is going well.
I bought swingwarm knobs for it the other day along with a rear stand to use them with. I forgot to double-check the knobs after my first couple of rides, and subsequently lost one of the knobs when it managed to vibrate itself out. I of course had bought the expensive black ones, and now I have to fork out for them again.
Mini-Animania Sydney was on last weekend.
Some friends and I ran a table rather successfully. Guess all that time running one for the club has made us pretty good at it. I think it's less an exercise in money-making (although we are making money that goes straight back into the project) and more just... seeing where we can go with it? Seeing what works? It's a bit exhausting on the day (over 5 hours standing and selling stuff before I got food) but it's fun.
Need another person on table though so we all get a chance to have a break and spend money on merchandise, though.
I ended up with Vexille (out of curiosity) and the Inoue Takehiko artbook Water. It's filled with colour Vagabond art, so I am happy.
My remaining grandfather is dying of advanced prostate cancer, so we are riding up the coast to see him for a couple of days over Easter. Leaving on the 10th, back on the 15th. My parents and I will ride (unless the weather is going to be crap) and my sister and her family will take the car. It will be about a 2000km round trip, which is why my next service will be sooner. We'll get to see my uncle on the way back as well.
It will be the first time I have seen my grandfather in years, and probably the last time as well.
I keep staying up too late for how early I wake up.
My housemate and I are renewing our lease for another 6 months. Assuming the owners want to keep us. I hope so, given how impressed the property manager was with our last inspection.
I need to go over my money so I know how much I can put away by when.
Not long till we know where we're headed with things.
