Well, not so much proper news as in the news.
For example, I used to teach this idea: that
climate change has had drastic effects on history, politically, militarily, and socially. I normally used the mid-14th and late 18th centuries as examples, though IMNSHO nearly any pre-modern revolution or period of warfare can be linked to poor harvests.
And something else I can get behind: Moten Ravn of the Roskilde ship museum is calling for a
survey study of bog bodies in northern Europe that may lead to better analysis and better theories on why they were created. Druids can't be the answer to every mysterious happening in the Bronze Age, now, can they? (I happen to love Ravn's own, perfectly quotidian theory, which is so much like my own attitudes toward archaeology; they're just people, and it's just stuff.)
